Why doesn't ABC try to do a daytime game show to go against CBS

They could have for instance, Pyramid with a smaller top prize (like $25,000) and Match Game to challenge Let's Make a Deal and The Price is Right in the ratings.

When it comes to game shows the morning is the weakest link for game shows because that's the time when people go to work and many people watch news rather than game shows. With the exception of The Price Is Right on CBS ABC has never attempted a chance at having a morning game show hour. They did try to attempt a game show hour for the morning by trying to cancel the Home show but when it failed Home was renewed for a final season then replaced by The Mike And Maty Show and then started The View. But if it were done right ABC would do an afternoon game show block and believe me it would get high ratings because when people get home from work they watch a lot of TV in the afternoon and a afternoon game show would fit the ABC schedule well. I bet if it were a high paced trivia challenge people would love it. ABC should give it a chance and try to create an afternoon game show to attract the afternoon audience someday and it would be a hit

I don't think ABC will try daytime game shows as long as The View is around. I think that show is disgusting, but it has done well for over 20 seasons against The Price is Right. The 10AM hour against Let's Make a Deal is reserved for affiliates. And ABC would get a lot of outrage from soaps fans if they cancelled their last remaining soap General Hospital for a game show. 1PM could maybe work, an afternoon hour of Good Morning America isn't needed. But from what ABC has done with their primetime game shows ruining Pyramid and making it a lot trashier than other versions ever were, I doubt if they would do a daytime game show right either.
