Default Jimmie ‘JJ’ Walker Uspet Jimmy Kimmel Won’t Invite Him to His Show—“I’ve begged him!”

Jimmie Walker: I’ve Begged Jimmy Kimmel To Be On His Show, He Won’t Put Me On

Quote:

It’s the battle between actor Jimmie Walker and late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.

During a recent interview, Walker called out Kimmel for not bringing him on his show.

“Jimmy Kimmel doesn’t use me on his TV show. I’ve begged to be on his TV show, he won’t put me on the show.”

He said they never had any issue, but for some reason, Kimmel just refuses to allow him to come on as a guest.

He added that Norman Lear, who has produced iconic sitcoms like “The Jeffersons,” “Sanford & Sons,” and ironically “Good Times,” which is Walker’s claim to fame, doesn’t want to work with him.

“Jimmy Kimmel and Norman Lear, they would never hire me. They just don’t appreciate what I do. Norman Lear’s a great guy. I think you have people that you like, but won’t work with again. And I think that’s what Norman thinks about me. He likes Jimmie Walker, will never say anything bad about Jimmie Walker, but I think he feels that because I was on the show, it changed what he had planned for the show. It kind of overtook what he wanted to do.”

He added that “Good Times” was the first show that Lear actually walked away from.

“He worked on every show throughout the whole thing, but he left our show because he just didn’t dig it anymore. But he’s a good guy. I love Norman and he would say he loves me too. But we’re creatively a little different.”

I'm by no means of a fan of Mr. Kimmel but what purpose would he have to invite Mr. Walker on his show? He hasn't done anything but glean whatever gigs he can on the comedy circuit in the last 40 years- and I'm not sure GT is even being rerun anywhere these days so there's no burning need for Mr. Kimmel to have him rehash the same " I was brilliant on GT, everyone else was jealous stories" he's been pitching since the show ended. How big a demand has there been for Dustin Diamond to do the same re 'Saved By the Bell' ? Mr.Kimmel usually promotes the most current shows and celebs who need him to help sell their latest products- and whatever Mr. Walker wants to sell has long since had its shelf-life expire!

As for Mr. Lear, ALL I can think of is that since he did that one night revival of AITF- Jeffersons a few months ago, that MAYBE Mr. Walker thinks Mr. Lear will also try the same with GT! I seriously doubt it and I haven't heard of Mr. Lear being interested in retrying the sitcom genre since the ODAAT revival ended.

If I was Jimmie, just give up the ghost and keep on moving. Something will come his way.
