ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke first revealed plans for a spinoff of the groundbreaking Asian-American comedy at the TV press tour on Monday. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the potential spinoff will likely revolve around an entirely new family rather than use a character from the current series.

That's what I was thinking!

The only way that could really work woudl be to introduce a character and have them on the show for a while and then create a new show for them. Kind of like what they did with Growing Pains with "Just the Ten of Us" that revolved around Mike's coach.
