ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke says co-creator Steven Levitan doesn't want to discuss a Modern Family spinoff right now. “I get smacked down every time I bring it up to Steve Levitan, so I’m going to stay quiet for a little while,” she told Deadline. “They’ve just started production on the final season — I was at the first table read last week, which was so great, and I’m going to let them focus on that.” Burke said Hyland's Haley Dunphy, her on-again-off-again boyfriend Dylan, played by Reid Ewing, and their baby would make for a perfect spinoff.

"Sorry @ModernFam fans!!! But a Haley spinoff will definitely have to wait," tweeted Hyland. The Modern Family star and Gordon -- who earned an Oscar nomination with husband Kumail Nanjiani for co-writing The Big Sick -- are developing a multi-camera comedy based on both of their lives. Hyland is set to star in the Untitled Sarah Hyland + Emily Gordon Project. No further details were made available, but the project has received a put pilot commitment from ABC. This Is Us co-showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger are on board as executive producers. Hyland will begin working on the comedy project after Modern Family wraps early next year.

For the better. I'd just get mad if we got this and didn't get the Sue Heck spinoff.

Doesn't have to be centered on her - why not a Cam and Mitch spinoff since they are apparently moving to Oklahoma?
