Crazy Why would anyone invest into Fox?

Fox always puts out comedies that they tend to be cancel quickly: LA to Vegas, Enlisted, Weird Loners, The Goodwin Games, The Mick, Cooper Barrett's Guide, Ghosted, Traffic Light, Oliver Beene, Making History, etc.

We all know by now that Disney has since taken over Fox studios, but not the actual broadcast channel. So the broadcast network is in a new, mostly unique spot that all of their content will be acquired content (somewhat like Netflix). But they are certainly going to be emphasizing sports. Not having your own studio makes a big difference in deciding to cancel or renew shows.

Well it looks like I am done with FOX.

Just found out that they are moving "The Orville" Season 3 to Hulu. That was one of the only new shows that I watch and the only TV Show I watched on the Fox Network.

I guess it's just a matter of time before I stop watching any live TV since 99 percent of newer programs do not appeal to me. Plus every time I get interested in a new TV show they always end up cancelling it without a proper ending. I've decided to no longer invest my time in newer TV Shows anymore.

I just found out a little over an hour ago. Even though we have Hulu I still think it stinks. Plus Season 3 will not premiere until late 2020. That's how you kill a TV Show. I'm pretty sure that will be the final season for The Orville.

I stopped watching FOX more or less after it canceled Almost Human and American Dad was moved to TBS.

I did start watching The Orville, but then quit almost towards the end of the second season because I don't commit to prime time shows anymore for the very reason you guys are complaining about. What's the point in getting invested when the best shows will get canceled or moved eventually?

If you look at FOX's current audience you'll notice that it's mostly college age people and the teenage crowd that mainly watch FOX and since a lot of the sitcoms are geared to the 20 and older crowd FOX tends to score huge ratings with the in crowd. When FOX made it's debut in 1986 it was originally meant to be a channel that anyone watched but when shows like Married With Children made their debuts FOX was in for a successful run but it wasn't until the debut of COPS in 1989 that FOX was starting to adopt a new image and added other genres of shows besides sitcoms and when COPS made it's debut COPS became such a monster hit that it paved the start for reality shows and even having reggae group Inner Circle score a hit single with the iconic theme song of COPS on the music charts and it's still a hit show today. Also with the debut of the crime drama Booker you could tell that FOX had a knack for making crime dramas mega hits. But as the 90's began FOX knew that a drama show that attracted teens would score a large audience and so Beverly Hills 90210 debuted and I think Beverly Hills 90210 actually saved FOX and kept them successful and soon launched other dramas such as Melrose Place and Party Of Five and they soon realized that dramas could bring high ratings. On the animation side FOX already had mega ratings when The Simpsons debuted and as The Simpsons soon paved the way for an entirely new audience and soon with the debuts of Family Guy and Futurama and American Dad FOX knew that animated series worked. But I think with this new image of FOX focusing on reality shows and game shows such as Masterchef and The Masked Singer and Spin The Wheel FOX is very proud of itself and considering that FOX hasn't had a successful game show since Greed I think Spin The Wheel is guaranteed to last a good while and be a hit. But as the years go by FOX will keep improving itself with more outstanding shows in it's future

Yes, it got moved to TBS in 2014. I was so angry, because I liked it better than Family Guy, and its disappearance messed up the Animation Domination bloc. Because of the move, I haven't watched FOX on Sunday nights since.

IMO I don't see that as "improving". I find their shows and programming to be pretty crappy. Then again like you said their programming is geared towards a younger audience. I'm not exactly young anymore and I do not consider myself part of the modern day "In Crowd" nor do I care to be a part of it. Plus I don't care for most of today's newer TV shows and I despise reality and talent shows.

Sorry to sound grouchy. I really hate the direction that Television has gone. Plus I don't like change all that much.

I was watching The Cool Kids till that got cancelled. I still watch Bob's Burgers. That's the only show I actually like on Fox anymore.
