Why The Affair is focusing on climate change in its final season

"I was always interested in the final season being about how their children live with what happens and how their children’s lives have changed," says co-creator Sarah Treem. "But Montauk became a character on the show itself a long time ago. We started to think about not just these characters but what would have happened in Montauk at this point."
