Seehorn responded to Giancarlo Esposito's recent comments to Collider, suggesting the Breaking Bad spinoff would end with Season 6, suggesting that he may have been referring to comments made by co-creators Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan. "Peter and Vince have said things like, 'Wouldn't it be fun if this had the same number of episodes as Breaking Bad?'" Seehorn explained to TV Guide, noting that Breaking Bad ran for 62 episodes over five seasons, but with one season stretched out over two years. "But they said that with a grin, because I think sentimentally it's sweet to them to bookend (the shows) that way."

Better Call Saul renewed for a sixth and final season

AMC announced Thursday evening that the Breaking Bad prequel series will end with a 13-episode Season 6, airing in 2021. The news comes one month before Better Call Saul's fifth season premiere on Feb. 23. "From the beginning when we started this, I think all our hopes and dreams were to be able to tell the whole story ... and make it to be a complete story from beginning to end," said Peter Gould, who co-created Better Call Saul with Vince Gilligan, at the TV press tour. "We're going to try like hell to stick the landing of these 63 episodes." Better Call Saul's six-season, 63-episode run will put it on par with Breaking Bad, which delivered 62 episodes over five seasons (including a final season that aired over two years). AMC Networks president Sarah Barnett added: "It has been an absolute joy to collaborate with the extraordinarily talented team on Better Call Saul, which — five seasons in — continues to deliver some of the best storytelling and most beautifully nuanced performances on television today. We congratulate (co-creator) Vince (Gilligan), Peter, our producers, writers and cast on a remarkable run and look forward to sharing this final chapter with fans.”
