People magazine reports that under federal guidelines, both Loughlin and husband Mossimo Giannulli would have received between 18-24 months in prison under a plea agreement. “They weren’t ready to accept that,” says a source, who is familiar with the legal discussions in the case. “They’re really not seeing how serious this is.” Loughlin and Giannulli now face up to 20 years in prison with the new money laundering charges that were leveled today.

Report: Lori Loughlin thought the DA was bluffing when she was offered a plea deal to serve some jail time

"She has been in complete denial and thought maybe she could skate by," a source tells E! News, echoing People's story Tuesday that Loughlin had rejected a plea deal because she didn't take the charges seriously. "She refused to accept any jail time and thought the DA was bluffing. She was adamant she wouldn't do any jail time." The source adds: "Lori is finally realizing just how serious this is. She is seeing the light that she will do jail time and is freaking out."
