Default American Idol's second ABC premiere drops 18% in total viewers

About 8.6 million watched Idol's second season premiere and 17th season overall last night. Idol also fell 26% in the demo compared to last year's premiere, which was on March 11, 2018.

Highly doubt it. ABC is the lowest performing of the broadcast networks. For them, sadly, this is a hit. They're desperate to bank on this "cash cow" to save their sinking ship.

I personally don't like this iteration of American Idol (but I'll still watch). I think the judges are way too soft on the contestants, and I miss the terribly bad auditions we saw in the original. I also can't stand Katy Perry. She acts downright unprofessional and it's actually kind of embarrassing the types of things she does on this show at sometimes! For me, American Idol died when Simon Cowell left, imo.

I doubt they're gonna keep a low rated show on.
