Default Suzy Quatro reveals the advice Happy Days star Ron Howard gave her

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbi...appy-Days.html

Quote:
Veteran rocker Suzi Quatro has sold more than 50 million albums in her music career.

She also famously played the character of Leather Tuscadero on long-running sitcom Happy Days in the mid-70s.

And on Thursday Suzi, 68, revealed the sage advice her Happy Days co-star Ron Howard recently gave her about acting.

Suzi told Today Extra's Richard Wilkins: 'I actually said to Ronnie [Howard] just the other day, "Did it ever feel like I had come out [on Happy Days] as a new actress?"

'And he said, "No. And nobody can work that out. You were just kind of there as if you belonged there."

'And then he said to me, "Don't ever take any acting lessons. Because what ever you do you do naturally and don't ruin it." Which is a great compliment.'

When Richard commented that her Happy Days character Leather was 'pretty much Suzi Quatro', Suzi said, 'Not really. The look was Suzi Quatro - the image, yes. But the character I had to play.'

Suzi joined Happy Days in 1974 and starred alongside Ron Howard (who played Richie Cunngham) and Henry Winkler (Arthur 'Fonzie' Fonzarelli).

Howard, 64, went on to direct a series of movies including A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13 and Cinderella Man.

It's interesting that she seemed far more welcomed (at least by Mr. Howard) than Roz Kelly had been and despite the fact that her character was the sister of the Fonz's onetime flame, Leather definitely seemed to mesh with Fonzie and all the other characters far better than Pinky ever did. I mean, can anyone imagine Pinky doing more than rudely turning her nose at the suggestion of going on a date with Ralph Malph? While Leather's date itself was somewhat of a disaster, at least at the end they let their guards down and seemed to appreciate each other for what each was rather than how they had pretended to be!

In any case, I'm glad Miss Quatro had an overall pleasant experience on the show!

Suzi Quatro was a major pop/rock success in Great Britain in the 1970s but for some reason she never caught on in her native US.

Actually, she did have one top 10 hit in the US around the same time she was appearing on the show, "Stumblin' In," a duet with Chris Norman that rose to #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

I would imagine her appearing on the show elevated her profile a bit and helped the song become a hit.

But that was it for her as far as any US success, sadly.

No, I am reminded somewhat of Luke 4:24 https://biblehub.com/luke/4-24.htm

Suzi Quatro is awesome, why she has never made it big in her native country the USA is a mystery to me.

Suzi released a new album/CD earlier this year titled No Control, it's a good album, several good songs on it. Nearing age 70 but Suzi's still got it, still rockin and recording good music.

One thing I've always wondered: How come Suzi Quatro never returned after her recurring appearances in seasons 5 & 6?

The Leather character wasn't brought back after season 6 for some unknown reason.

Maybe Leather And The Suedes got so big and she never had a chance to return???

Or a more likely explanation is that maybe the writers ran out of story ideas for the character.
