To me, George Jr. should've told Sheldon "Thank you!" for what he said on the news. Sheldon's speech is what made Jr. get a surprise visit from his love interest when she saw him getting the cold shoulder from everyone else at their school.

Ugh that was the most tedious episode I have ever seen. Very thin plot and painful to sit through, especially the Grandmother crooning patriotic songs on her lawn. It's the only episode I didn't even watch all the way through, it was a swing and a miss.
