Default Jeopardy! fans are confused by the first-ever All-Star Games

https://mashable.com/article/jeopard.../#ggHGeiOZhZq2

The Jeopardy! All Star Games, featuring teams of competitors, has frustrated fans since its debut on Wednesay night. "There are six teams with three players on each team," says Charlotte Ross. "Those three players will each play one round of Single, Double, and Final Jeopardy. Three teams will face off in the first 'match,' and the three others in the second. The winning teams of these two matches will automatically move on to the final match. To make things more confusing, out of the four losing teams, the three with the top earning scores will play in a 'wildcard match' to determine which team will be the third team to play in the final. Once you watch this video four or five times you'll finally get it. Not only is this style of play being put into effect, but the episodes are being stretched out over multiple days as well. This is really the part that has fans up in arms. It's hard enough to follow a team when they have a different player in every round, but now you also have to follow your team over multiple days."

Wow, I'm so glad I decided to skip watching it.

Jeopardy! team says the first-ever "All-Star Games" helps deliver newer, younger viewers

Producers wanted to move the classic game show forward without stripping it of its essence with its new team competition. “We try to stay current, first of all, with what’s going on with showbiz, with politics, with the economy, with the environment and just putting together as great a variety of material as possible,” says host Alex Trebek. “It’s the best kind of reality television … (and) it just pleases me to know that ‘Jeopardy’ has become a part of Americana and our learning environment.” ALSO: Check out a compilation of celebrities reacting to being Jeopardy! clues.

I don't find it too confusing but some aspects of it are stupid. The behind the scenes strategy sessions are often pointless and only take away from the actual game. But if it brings in new viewers then more power to them. However, I don't think there are enough memorable Jeopardy winners that would allow them to do this again with a different group of players.

The format kind of distracted from how good many of the players are...
