Default Did I Dream This, Did It Really Happen, Or Am I Imagining It?

Hi all,
Can somebody tell me if this really happened?

I seem to vaguely recall once seeing one of those Beaver sequel shows of the 1980s ("Still The Beaver", "The New Leave It To Beaver" or something like that). In it, Wally (Tony Dow) sang his newborn son to sleep, singing "The Toy Parade," the "Leave It To Beaver" theme song. Prior to that, I had only heard the instrumental version of the song.

Does anyone know if this really happened or if possibly I dreamt it or imagined the whole thing?

Later,
Art

I never saw that, but the LITB theme song was the instrumental version of the song "The Toy Parade" so you probably were not dreaming.

TJ posted the lyrics here:

Cool, if he sang that, can you tell if he can sing or not?

bktFan,
As I recall, he did a pretty nice job singing the song -- what the young Wally would've called "pretty creepy."

The young Wally called EVERYTHING pretty creepy! I wish I could see The New Leave it to Beaver, but I don't know if it's showing at all. I've never seen an episode. Does anyone know if it is showing anywhere?

I don't know if the New Beaver is on. I don't think so, but I just thought of something. Since Archie Bunker's Place is coming to Tvland, maybe it will pave the way for other shows like The New Leave it to Beaver. I would say the original Beaver would have to leave tvland before it airs though.

yeah, well maybe it should play on Nick at Nite, it sems more suited for that station, since it isn't in the 50's and 60's like most of the shows on TV Land. Anyway, if they were smart that's what they'd do (whis is probably why they aren't doing it.) because, people who like LITB would want to see it, and then they'd have to watch N a N, and they'd get higher ratings.

Hi all,
I think that if "The New Leave It To Beaver" will show up anywhere, it would probably be TVLand.

Nick at Nite sure seems to be on a 1980s kick these days, but they're all shows that were successful and more or less repopularized sitcoms after they had kind of died out for a while in the late '70s/early'80s. Unfortunately, "The New Leave It To Beaver" wasn't a huge hit and doesn't exactly fit that "saved the sitcom" description. Meanwhile, TVLand does tend to come up with more obscure stuff.
