Williams, whose originally scheduled post-holiday return to The Wendy Williams Show earlier this week was pushed back to next Monday, will instead take an extended hiatus while she recovers from complications from surgery on a shoulder fracture and Graves' disease, which she disclosed last February. “Over the past few days, Wendy has experienced complications regarding her Graves’ Disease that will require treatment,” Williams' family said in a statement. “Wendy will be under the strict supervision of her physicians, and as part of her care, there will be significant time spent in the hospital. Despite her strong desire to return, she is taking a necessary, extended break from her show to focus on her personal and physical well-being.”

From what I read, the show will be returning at the end of January, but with different guest hosts.

I’m sure that guest hosts can do a good job while Wendy Williams is recovering.

The Wendy Williams Show host has reportedly grown anxious while sidelined by various illnesses since December. “Watching (fill-in host) Nick Cannon being a huge hit with her audience is tough for her," an insider tells Page Six. Following a six-week leave of absence, Wendy Williams is set to return to her eponymous daytime talk show on Monday, March 4, Variety reports.

Williams has been M.I.A. since Jan. 18 to deal with complications from Graves’ disease. At the time, Williams’ family released a statement that explained that her treatment would involve “significant time” in the hospital and that she hoped to return to work soon.
