Zoey Deutch is turning 24 years old today. As she is the daughter of actress Lea Thompson and director Howard Deutch, it’s not surprising that she took her first acting lessons at five years of age. Deutch made her screen debut at 15, in a recurring role on Disney Channel’s The Suite Life on Deck. She then was cast in a recurring role on The CW’s Ringer, while her first major feature film role was in the gothic fantasy Beautiful Creatures. In 2014, she starred as Rose Hathaway in an adaptation of Rochelle Mead’s Vampire Academy, which was a financial and critical flop.

Since then, Deutch seems to be focusing on working in indie films. Last year, she had starring roles in several films—the teen drama Before I Fall, the period piece Rebel in the Rye (as Oona O’Neill), and the comedy-drama Flower. Earlier this year she starred in the Netflix rom-com Set It Up.



Deutch has been cast as a regular in the upcoming Netflix comedy series The Politician, and is co-producing and starring in the feature film Buffaloed.
