Question Were the final two seasons awful

I don't know where to start but did Seasons 7 and 8 signify the period in which The Cosby Show lost any direction or storytelling? To give you a better idea, there could be entire episodes where nothing happens. Like for example, there's a baseball/cricket centric episode that really has no plot.

Beyond that, it seemed like Cliff became flat out annoying instead of funny. Does anybody recall him randomly adding a pseudo Fat Albert laugh and repeatedly saying "Well Exqueeeeeze me!"?

Also, outside of maybe Theo virtually everybody else didn't have much of a story around. And whenever Denise was in an actual episode, she could literally have only a single line.

It was definitely running out of steam. Cosby started getting mean and grouchy, even with his grandchildren. Somewhat jarring to me, because he used to be so good at entertaining little kids. In one episode, he tries to take a nap when he's supposed to be watching the twins. He thinks it's okay for two preschoolers to run around the house unsupervised?

Also annoyed me that they made Elvin act so dumb in the last seasons. The man was a college grad and a med student.

I thought all the seasons were awful. Bill Maher said the same thing. He said Cosby is NOT funny. Couldn't agree more.

Once in a while you might find something a little funny but you can sometimes say that about the evening news too!

There were funny episodes. Cosby had a good supporting cast to work with, especially Phylicia Rashad. The kids were cute in the early years, but, alas, they grew up.

Well, I wouldn't say that all episodes from the last seasons were bad. For example, I liked Pam and Charmaine. (I seem to be in the minority about that, but still).

I still enjoyed them. They were funny to me. Can’t say anything bad about them.

I remember that episode. He tries to take a nap so he sets the kids by the phone and tells them Santa Claus is going to call and to wake him up when Santa ClUs calls. About a minute later, the kids wake him up and say that Santa Claus called when he really didn’t. That one was funny.

I loved the show, but the last 2 seasons were horrible. Even A Different World was getting better ratings at the time.

I also loved the show, but once Cousin Pam was introduced and they got rid of Denise, the show was dead to me.
