The former host of The Jerry Springer Show is expected to return to daytime TV next fall for a courtroom show that handles small-claims cases, according to The New York Post. NBCUniversal is producing the series that will feature the 74-year-old Springer, a former attorney who graduated from Northwestern University's law school, in a black robe behind a desk. The Post reports Judge Jerry is "expected to incorporate some elements of his notoriously rowdy current program, including a raucous, fist-pumping studio audience breaking into chants of 'Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!' and Springer ending the show with his signature line, 'Take care of yourself, and each other.'” The Jerry Springer Show was canceled earlier this year, ending its 27-year run in July. |

"Judge Jerry" Set for Fall 2019 Launch
by Rick Porter 11/26/18 Longtime talk show host Jerry Springer will transition to presiding over a TV courtroom in "Judge Jerry", a syndicated series set to launch in fall 2019. Distributor NBCUniversal has sold the show in 75 percent of the country. "For the first time in my life, I am going to be called honorable," said Springer. "My career is coming full circle, and I finally get to put my law degree to use after all these years." "Judge Jerry" will have a similar setup to other court shows, with parties to small-claims cases agreeing to argue their cases on camera. Springer will render verdicts and offer a "dose of classic Springer wisdom" in each case. "Judge Jerry will merge Jerry's talent for connecting with people, his incredibly relatable and funny personality and his legal training and governing experience to bring viewers a more entertaining court show," said Tracie Wilson, executive VP creative affairs at NBCUniversal Television Distribution. "We are so happy to continue our fantastic partnership with Jerry, who is a proven TV icon with a dedicated and broad fan base." Prior to launching his talk show in 1991, Springer was a lawyer; he served on the city council in Cincinnati and was mayor of the city for one year in the late 1970s. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/li...launch-1163728 |

My mom and I saw Judge Jerry a minute ago and I think that he's trying to copy the late Judge Wapner from The People's Court and that Jerry Springer thinks he's got talent to be a judge. Sure he was mayor of Cincinnati but after being America's favorite talk show host Jerry Springer thinks that Judge Jerry might be the start of a new career move for him as a judge. While I doubt that Judge Jerry will survive to see a second season Judge Jerry will be a huge feather to add to Jerry Springer's already filled cap of talent. As the saying says "it's a whole new ball game" for Jerry Springer to try

I think Jerry Springer is a motherless POS for dumbing down America with his tasteless talk show. But I have to admit, his new Judge Jerry show is so bad that it's actually kinda good.

Jerry Springer’s "Judge Jerry" Renewed for Season 3
by Erik Pedersen March 23, 2021 "Judge Jerry", the court show hosted by daytime TV veteran Jerry Springer, has been renewed for a third season by NBCUniversal Syndication Studios. Season 3 promises more outrageous court cases with a reminder that, simply put, this is not just another court show – this is Jerry Springer’s courtroom. “I couldn’t be more excited for this new season where our audience gets an even closer look into the conflicts and drama of some very intense and outrageous disputes,” Springer said. “I’m totally aware of how fortunate I am to have such a rewarding job, and I promise viewers and stations to do everything I can to dispense justice and fairness in a most entertaining way.” https://deadline.com/2021/03/judge-j...on-1234720059/ |
