Kern had been the subject of two human resources investigations after being accused of harassing and unfairly penalizing women and making racially insensitive remarks. In June, after he was demoted from NCIS: New Orleans showrunner to consulting producer, a third investigation was launched following allegations of harassment, unprofessional conduct and vindictive behavior.
