Syndicated daytime talk show "Tamron Hall" is set to premiere Monday, September 9. The show has been sold more than 85% of the country to date, including 47 of the top 50 markets.

“We continue to garner a tremendous group of top-notch broadcasters and outstanding clearances for Tamron Hall,” said Jed Cohen, executive vice president and general sales manager, Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer and International.



“The premiere date is an easy one to remember, 9-9-19,” said executive producer Bill Geddie.

“On that day, everyone will learn what I already know, that Tamron Hall is the real thing we’ve been searching for in daytime talk. Tamron will bring her abundant wit, style, intelligence and warmth to her show. She has the unparalleled breadth of experience to talk and listen to all sides and bring folks together.”



“Tamron Hall will be a daily destination for all things topical and a platform for viewers to connect with the people who are shaping our world,” according to producers.

The show will be executive produced by Geddie and Hall. It is distributed in national syndication by Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer and International, the global content sales and distribution segment of The Walt Disney Company.

Tamron Hall enlists Fantasia Barrino to sing her daytime talk show theme song

Hall says she tapped the American Idol winner to sing her theme song "Shine" because "she embodies what it means to be a woman – she is loving and giving to others, and she shines.”

I caught the last few minutes of Tamron Hall's talk show this morning and from what I saw of it if it is successful Tamron Hall could become as popular as Ellen DeGeneres but from what little I saw of it she is trying to appeal to the younger crowd by having celebrity interviews and topics that appeal to everyone in a simple manner. I knew a lot about Tamron Hall because Mom would watch her on MSNBC sometimes and I feel that she will go far and possibly win an Emmy next year. Tamron Hall's theme song to her talk show Shine is awesome and inspiring and Fantasia sings with such passion in the lyrics and Shine really fits the show well. I wonder if Shine is on an MP3 because it's such a great song?. But if Tamron Hall's talk show gets renewed for a second season she might join the ranks of Jenny Jones Ricki Lake and Sally Jessy Raphael as a successful female talk show host

Syndicated talk show "Tamron Hall" has been renewed for a second season, making it the second syndication rookie to earn a pickup for 2020-21.

The Disney-produced and -distributed effort has been cleared in 80 percent of the country for next season, with ABC-owned stations and Hearst Television stations serving as the flagship groups for "Tamron Hall".

The show has performed solidly in its first three months, ranking second behind "The Kelly Clarkson Show" — which has also been renewed — among the season's robust crop of first-year shows in syndication.

ABC News is taking over daytime syndicated talk show "Tamron Hall". The move was announced internally by ABC News President Kim Godwin and related to the show’s crew Friday morning, sources tell Deadline.

It comes following multiple executive producer departures from the talker since it launched in 2019. The most recent showrunner, Candi Carter, will remain at the helm, executive producing alongside "Today" alumna Hall, an Emmy winner for Informative Talk Show Host in 2020.

ABC News already oversees the network’s top daytime talker, "The View". The division took over the talk show as it was going through a major overhaul in the fall of 2014.

The nationally syndicated show is in the middle of its third season. It airs in New York, LA, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Houston, Raleigh-Durham and Fresno and is syndicated by Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution.

In a landscape where four major daytime talk shows are wrapping this year, Tamron Hall has a different message for her audience: “Let’s Keep Talking.”

That’s the timely slogan the host and her team have come up with for Season 8, which has been renewed for another season by the ABC-owned TV station group — where the show airs in major markets.



News comes just days after Hall was tapped to host this year’s Oscars Red Carpet Show on ABC with Jesse Palmer.

On Monday, Hall was already back in New York and ready to celebrate the news — which is all the more a victory after seeing a bloodbath this year in daytime (where things have gotten so rough that NBCUniversal pulled out of first-run syndication entirely).




“My vision of where we’re going usually comes to me in the middle of night, and all of these changes were happening,” Hall told Variety.

“And I said, ‘Let’s Keep Talking.’ Season 8. That’s our thing. I called our team and I said, ‘Let’s Keep Talking.’ The landscape is always going to change. Some of Conan’s jokes at the Oscars where he talked about us watching our phones to consume movies and all of these AI jokes, they landed partly because the industry is fearful of these changes. So it’s not unique to daytime. I think there are obviously some big headlines.

But in truth, everywhere you go, people are having the same conversation. ‘Will I keep working? Will I continue to be able to do what I love?’ That’s not unique to daytime TV. I think what we are seeing is a reflection of a larger conversation. So that’s why our theme is ‘Let’s Keep Talking,’ whether it’s on daytime TV, whether it’s in a podcast, whatever version of this. I think that will never go out of style.”
