Default Kristin Davis called 'petty' and 'shameful' for sharing 'Sex and the City' throwback

...minus Kim Cattrall for the Emmys

The Sex and the City feud is alive again.

Ahead of Monday’s Emmy Awards, Kristin Davis shared a sweet throwback from the event in 2004, featuring her former co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon. One member of the group was missing — that would be Kim Cattrall — the one who went against the grain, saying no to the third film. This is the one who is publicly feuding with series star Parker.

It didn’t take long for commenters to note the omission. “Can’t help but notice someone is missing….” was one of the first. They weren’t so subtle after that. “Where is Kim Cattrall?” was another, which was followed by “The SNUB” and “Oh, the shade.” From there, it just got nasty. Davis was called “petty” (more than once), “shameful” (also more than once), and “hateful” (just once). There were even some snakes, a favorite feud emoji.

The many, many negative comments weren’t missed by Davis. She popped back on Instagram Tuesday to post a much more innocuous photo, saying that she didn’t mean to “throw shade” or “exclude” anyone. She said that was a photo that was “easily accessible,” so she used it.

There aren’t a ton of photos of all four actresses together at that particular awards show. In fact, we could find just a handful — from 1999. However, with the attention their feud has been getting (after Cattrall pulled out of SATC 3, lashed out at SJP for her fake sympathy after a relative’s death, and her interview saying she was “never friends” with her co-stars), it seems Davis — who has been with team Parker — underestimated what the reaction would be to her picture.

In an interview with Piers Morgan last year, Cattrall said of her co-stars, “We’ve never been friends. We‘ve been colleagues and in some ways, it’s a very healthy place to be because then you have a clear line between your professional life and relationship and your personal.” And she said the age difference was a factor. “They all have children and I am 10 years older, and since, specifically, the series ended, I have been spending most of my time outside of New York, so, I don’t see them. The common ground that we had was the series, and the series is over.”

Although the women made two movies after the series ended in 2004, the trouble between Parker, a producer on the show, and Cattrall started on the series. Cattrall was initially signed on for the third movie, but she changed course after reportedly making “outrageous” demands. She has since landed a role in CBS’s thriller series Tell Me a Story. She’s also said she would be OK with recasting Samantha.
