Default Tim Allen emphasizes Last Man Standing isn't a political show: "My politics are reall

...y irrelevant"

https://ew.com/tv/2018/09/13/tim-allen-interview/

Asked by EW if he's a Trump fan, Allen says: "You know … it’s a very loaded question," adding: "Do I like him or agree with him? … I don’t know. Somebody got this NAFTA thing done. How did that happen? It’s like a slight of hand with this dude." Allen reiterates that his comedy, revived on Fox, "is not a political show. We talk about politics because everybody does. If you want to see me talk politics, come see me at The Mirage in Las Vegas, or any of the concerts that I do throughout the country. My politics are really irrelevant. What I do in my family, what I do in my neighborhood, that may be more of an indication of what I believe. But I wouldn’t want who say, 'I can’t stand Trump so I can’t watch this show.' Try to table that. It’s a sitcom that’s really clever where we work hard to make you laugh your a** off."

At the end of the day, no two people are going to agree on everything, therefore, I guess that it all comes down to whatever subjects are most important to you.

God bless you always!!!

‘Will & Grace’ Co-Creator Doesn’t Want to See Tim Allen Get Political on ‘Last Man Standing’

Quote:
“Will and Grace” is no stranger to politics – its latest season features discussions about immigration, President Trump and a host of other topics – but that doesn’t mean show co-creator Max Mutchnick thinks every show should follow suit.

“It depends on the tone – everything is about tone – and our characters are able to talk about what they want to talk about because of the way they were initially built, so it really depends,” Mutchnick told Variety at Friday’s annual GLSEN Respect Awards held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. “I want to hear the cast of ‘Will & Grace’ talk, I don’t really want to hear Tim Allen talk.” (Allen endorsed Republican candidate John Kasich in the 2016 presidential race and attended Donald Trump’s inauguration.)

He wants to hear the cast of Will and Grace talk, but he doesn't want to hear Tim Allen talk. There's a surprise! Typical Hollywood attitude.

With Last Man Standing though, it's the type of show that is otherwise doing a very common sitcom family story, and then Tim Allen randomly walks in and says random anti-liberal comments. It just takes you out of the show because it feels forced and doesn't really fit with the tone of the show. It seems like Tim Allen wants to make a throw back to '90s-type sitcoms like his own Home Improvement but with edgy political stuff tossed in for good measure.
