BET's The Bobby Brown Story tries to redeem Bobby Brown from public villainy

To me why I think BET made a drama mini series about singer Bobby Brown is to make millions from the Whitney Houston estate and from what I think the music world is trying to make Whitney Houston the Janis Joplin of the 2000's and now that they have made three Whitney Houston movies and one movie about Bobbi Kristina Brown it seems that they are making Bobby Brown the center of attention now. Because ever since the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown Bobby Brown has been a huge celebrity in the tabloids and starred in a reality show called Being Bobby Brown. What I think The Bobby Brown Story mainly is focusing on is Bobby Brown's personal troubles and problems in the past. Because ever since his last album that was supposed to be his comeback album titled Forever came out in 1997 his career went downhill and he disappeared from the music scene and then before this drama mini series came out he released his recent album Masterpiece. I think Bobby Brown's career will continue to go downhill and he will quit music for good if he can't stop his troubles but I think BET is getting huge ratings from airing The Bobby Brown Story. But I would like to see a movie about Cissy Houston being made for TV and that would be wonderful to see

BET's The Bobby Brown Story allowed Bobby Brown to rewrite his troubled narrative

The two-part BET miniseries, made with Brown's significant involvement, is "a classic example of an artist using their own license to rewrite a contentious public narrative," says Clover Hope. She adds: "For the subjects involved, the self-produced biopic is a kind of unobstructed release of their side of the truth, which is unfortunate for the people in their lives who aren’t around to dispute it. For the viewer, it’s a nostalgic, intimate (and debatable) encyclopedia that gives us both tough and light moments, including the best one from Part 2 of The Bobby Brown Story—a reenactment of a classic scene (Whitney in a visor and Bobby in tiny glasses dancing together in a hotel) from the classic 2005 reality show Being Bobby Brown, which as a friend of mine joked 'put Bravo on the map.'"
