For example, there was a Cheers episode where the closing scene in It's a Wonderful Life was interrupted by a breaking news alert that "Boston Airport" was closed (it's been called, and known as, Logan Airport for several decades now).
Can anybody recall similar gaffes on popular TV shows or movies? Note that cases where private brands or properties were deliberately re-branded or mislabeled to avoid possible trademark permission or "free advertising" issues don't count. |

The unaired pilot episode for Cavemen was set in my hometown of Norfolk, Va. (I think they eventually used San Diego as the backdrop)
On the pilot, the guys are watching the local news, which mentions a forecast for Norfolk, however, the skyline behind the anchors is of Richmond, a separate media market about 90 minutes away. See below, it's all within the first two minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xlt5_nTFx4 Also, Norfolk/Virginia Beach is not as close as NCIS makes it out to be lol. They'll have you thinking Gibbs and everyone else can get from there to Quantico in about 30 minutes. Not even if you fly from one city to the other is that possible. :P |
