Question TV Shows That Are Incredibly Hard to Find

Since WatchMojo.com recently did a list regarding movies that aren't readily available on home video. In other words, movies that haven't yet been released on a region 1 DVD or blu-ray.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mwudbu_L77s

For TV series, this can include decidedly more obscure shows that aren't available on YouTube.

Honestly, how about any show? To me, what's hard to find are the shows that are UNEDITED, MUSIC RIGHTS ARE INTACT and NO CREDIT CRUNCH.

That was a long list. Hundreds of shows I never heard of.

In this time of HDTV and due to the fact that many shows have been remastered, it's ridiculous that you can't get ANY show you want (particularly, popular shows that ran for many seasons), complete and as originally aired. Music rights shouldn't be an issue. Pay what they want for the music, and give the customer the option of paying the higher price. If I want a hard copy of it (DVD), allow me to make one.

"PEARL", starring Rhea Perlman and Carol Kane. I´d love to be able to watch that again.

Though I got them when they originally released, I'd say a very good candidate for this thread would be the 4 seasons of Punky Brewster. At least here in the Chicago area, I haven't seen any of the individual 4 season DVD releases for Punky at any store in quite some time! It's probably been at least 5, 6 years since I've seen any of them in a store at all! Wouldn't shock me if no big box retailer within 250 miles has it. I think you can still get it on Amazon but just strictly speaking big box retail that'd be near the top of the most difficult to find list.

The Pruitts of Southampton (ABC) 1966-67 starring Phyllis Diller is impossible to find virtually anywhere, let alone on DVD. Out of the 30 episodes, filmed only a couple of episodes can be found off the internet. I would love for this to be officially released or at least shown in syndication somewhere.

That's a good one! Here's another: Make Room For Granddaddy, Danny Thomas's one-season ABC show around 1970, with most of the cast from The Danny Thomas Show. Very little of that on Youtube.

I'm dying to get some copies of the PBS Anthology "Trying Times," especially the episode "Drive, She Said," starring Teri Garr, Lyman Ward, and Catherine Bach as herself.

So far all I've seen are illegal downloads on YouTube, and not of that episode. Although I did see this episode in the Paley Center in NYC years ago back when it was called the Museum of Television and Radio.
