Says a lot that I don't even know most of these shows. Current TV is over for me. It's been a good ride.

Too much offer nowadays, it's impossible to keep track.
And also too much nominations (5 per category would be enough), and too much categories (I'd get rid of guest actors, limited series, sketch series, reality and variety talks). Just reward lead and supporting cast, series, and writers. But I'm thinking if these awards have still any sense nowadays. |

All these high profile award shows get worse ratings than the same show the year before. Watching these elites fawn all over themselves gets old, and the ratings reflect that.

It will probably have record low ratings.I have not watched it in a long time and I used to like entertainment award shows. In my opinion awards these days given for entertainment mean absolutely nothing.

Just to add..Of course I do not not watch modern and current TV.However I was just skimming over the names of the people nominated.Aside from Ted Danson,Henry Winkler and a few others I have not heard of any of those people.Who are they?lol.Anyhow, since everything about television has changed so much and it is such a shadow of what it once was, being on TV these days means nothing now. It's like being on youtube.

Sandra Oh's Killing Eve Emmy nomination is a "bittersweet joy" for actors of Asian descent
"It isn’t simply the Emmy committee’s fault that it has taken this long—this year is the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards—for an Asian American woman to be nominated for the top drama award," says Nicole Clark. "In a landscape devoid of major acting opportunities for Asians and Asian Americans, the lack of nominations and wins really isn’t surprising. To win an award, you need to have a good role, and those roles are in short supply for Asians. Only two Asian actors have won Emmys—Archie Panjabi in 2010 as supporting actress for The Good Wife and Riz Ahmed in 2017 as lead actor in HBO’s The Night Of." |
