June 2: Happy Birthday Zachary Quinto

Zachary Quinto turned 41 yesterday. Quinto studied drama at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, and made his acting debut in a guest appearances on The Others in 2000. Over the next six years he appeared in guest roles in series such as Touched by an Angel, Charmed, and Crossing Jordan. He appeared in a recurring role on season 3 of 24, and was part of the cast of VH1’s So Notorious. In 2006 Quinto became better known as Sylar on Heroes; he was a recurring character during the first season and a regular thereafter. During the show’s run, Quinto made his feature film debut as Spock in the rebooted Star Trek feature film franchise.


Quinto has returned to the role of Spock for two further Star Trek films. He has had major roles in the recent features Snowden and Aardvark, and will appear in the upcoming Hotel Artemis. He received a Primetime Emmy nomination for starring on season 2 of American Horror Story. Although Quinto’s stage career is less illustrious than that of today’s other headliner, he is also active in theater. He made his Broadway debut as Tom Wingfield in the 2013 revival of The Glass Menagerie. Currently, Quinto is starring in the 50th anniversary Broadway revival of Mart Crowley’s The Boys in the Band.
