...l harassment and discrimination
https://www.salon.com/2018/05/16/exc...laints-is-out/ Last December, Variety reported on complaints against Kern, including allegations he made inappropriate remarks about female employees, which resulted in an HR investigation. CBS also investigated Kern after he was accused of discriminating against women and making racially charged comments. Variety also reported he allegedly engineered the exit of original cast member Zoe McLellan because she was "unf*ckable." CBS wasn't able to corroborate all of the accusations, but found some inappropriate behavior that resulted in disciplinary action. Variety reported that after Kern was disciplined, NCIS: New Orleans continued to be a hostile work environment. Now that Season 4 has wrapped, Salon reports that Kern will no longer serve as showrunner and he will be replaced by executive producer Chris Silber. However, Salon says Kern will “still be involved with the show." Salon could not reach CBS TV Studios to confirm Kern's exit from his showrunner role. |

Former NCIS: New Orleans showrunner Brad Kern is under investigation for misconduct again -- even after CBS renewed his contract
CBS has launched a third investigation into Kern one month after he stepped down as showrunner from the CBS drama series amid new accusations of harassment and misconduct. An outside investigator will examine Kern, who recently inked a two-year overall deal with CBS Television Studios. Kern was the subject of two CBS internal investigations in 2016 that resulted in disciplinary action. According to Maureen Ryan, who reported on allegations of Kern's "misogynistic bullying, racially insensitive comments and harassing behavior" in a Variety story last December, the new outside investigation is "expected to include but also go beyond the scope of the previous probes and potentially explore new complaints against Kern." |
