Stephen Colbert and Candice Bergen take shots at Trump at CBS' upfronts
Bergen explained why there's no footage of the Murphy Brown revival, saying: “We wanted to stay really topical, so we didn’t shoot a pilot because if we did we’d already be several news cycles and Stormys out of date." Meanwhile, Colbert used CBS shows to mock the Trump administration and Fox News. “To former members of the Trump administration looking for jobs at CBS …a word of warning to Steve Bannon, The Amazing Race is not about what you think it is," he said. “CBS has a great lineup of game shows — Let’s Make a Deal, The Price is Right — by the way, those two sentences were the entire conversation between Michael Cohen and Stormy Daniels.” Colbert also said that with the Murphy Brown and Magnum P.I. revivals, "CBS is on its way to being the number one network in 2018 and in 1988."

Bergen wouldn't mind having a repeat of the 1992 kerfuffle in which then-Vice President Dan Quayle made a jab about her character being a single mom. ALSO: Murphy Brown may revive the running joke of having famous secretaries.
