Default Whatever Happened to the Cast of 80s Show “Small Wonder?”

Quote:
Small Wonder is a science-fiction comedy sitcom that was first aired on the Syndication network on September 7, 1985. It was about a family where the father worked as a robotics engineer. He built a robot called Vicki that was modeled on a young human girl and the family then tried to pass off the robot as their adopted daughter. The original series was aired for the final time on May 20, 1989. Did you watch this show and wonder since it ended what the actors are doing now? Here is what happened to the cast of ‘Small Wonders’.

Dick Christie

Dick Christie played the role of Ted Lawson who was the father of the family. He was the robotic engineer who created Vicky. Since ‘Small Wonders’ ended, Christie has appeared in many other television series. These have included ‘Days of Our Lives’, ‘Knots Landing’, ‘The Ropers’, and ‘The Waltons’. He has also had many roles in movies, most notably the 1998 movie ‘Molly’ that he wrote and in which he starred.

Marla Pennington

Marla Pennington is the actress who portrayed Joan Lawson, the mother of the family. She is the character on the show who viewed Vicky as like a real person and a member of the family. Prior to ‘Small Wonder’, Pennington acted in several television series, including ‘Happy Days’ and ‘General Hospital’. She also had roles in movies such as ‘The Day of the Locust’ and ‘National Lampoon’s Class Reunion’. However, she has had no acting jobs since ‘Small Wonder’. She left to have children with her entertainment lawyer husband Tom Rowan. They have a son, Dan, and a daughter, Kat, together.

Jerry Supiran

Jerry Supiran played Jamie Lawson, the son of Ted and Joan. Supiran has not acted since ‘Small Wonder’ ended. It was reported that he was working in a shelter for the homeless in California as a full-time volunteer. He had also formerly worked in Henderson, Nevada, at a food and beverage corporation.

Emily Schulman

Emily Schulman played Harriet Brindle who was the daughter of the nosy neighbors. This character had a crush on Jamie Lawson. After ‘Small Wonder’ ended, Schulman continued to appear on television in many small parts. Her last role was as Ruby Mae Morrison in the television film ‘Christy’ in 1994 and then the television series of the same name which ran from 1994 to 1995. When ‘Small Wonder’ ended in 1989, she appeared in the movies ‘Caddie Woodlawn’ and ‘Troop Beverley Hills’ in the same year. Emily Schulman is now an acting instructor in Connecticut.

Tiffany Brissette

Tiffany Brissette played Victoria ‘Vicky’ Ann Smith-Lawson, the robot that is modeled as a young girl. Other than the family and a few trusted friends, nobody knows that Vicky is a robot and she even attends school. In the two years that followed ‘Small Wonder’ ending, Tiffany Brissette continued to act in small roles. The most notable of these was in ‘Equal Justice’. She played the role of Katie Rogan in seven episodes of the series. In 1991, Brissette left acting and became a registered nurse in 2007.

Here are my memories of Tiffany Brissette, who famously played the robot, V.I.C.I. (Vicki) on the fondly remember TV sitcom, "Small Wonder". This video also provides an update on what has happened with this great lady since the show ended.
