Question Is Jerry Seinfeld still relevant?

What does Generation Z think about him? Do they know who he is?

I have seen a little bit of Seinfeld, but I enjoy "Comedians in Cars Drinking Coffee" more.

I used to be a Seinfeld fanatic (Hence my name... Schmoopie), but then I discovered Frasier and fell in love with it and after a while Seinfeld wasn't funny anymore. I contemplated and contemplated about getting rid of my Seinfeld DVD set because I knew that I would be remorseful for doing it, but I honestly haven't. I even tried to do one final watch of every episode just to make sure and coudln't get through the first episode. I promise I'm not putting down the show or Jerry in any way. I just don't find any of them that funny anymore. I've watched a couple of "Comedians in Cars" and even those don't do anything for me. I just turned 50 in September so maybe I'm getting old. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Wow! I knew you like Frasier and The Middle a lot (and we both hate The Golden Girls ), but I had thought Seinfeld was in your overall top 10 (hence your user name after all ) along with shows like Full House and Monk for awhile. I would agree Frasier in its prime (and The Middle) is definitely better than Seinfeld, but Seinfeld still has its merits a lot of episodes.

Are we talking Jerry as a person or one of his shows?

Seinfeld as a show has in some respects, not aged that well. Maybe it's because the four main characters are such horrible people, that once the cleverness of the writing wears off (after seeing an episode more than a few times) it is harder to ignore how horrible they really are.

I'm guessing that we are talking about his career as a comedian. I just don't think he's funny anymore and until just a couple of years ago (probably sooner), I found him hilarious. Is it possible to outgrow someone?
