Jordana Brewster is from a family that is no stranger to fame. She is a descendant of Mayflower colonist William Brewster, her grandfather was longtime Yale University President Kingman Brewster, and her mother is ex-model Maria João, who was on the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue for 1978. Brewster was born in Panama, and spent several childhood years in Brazil. She first became known for soap opera work, appearing as Nikki Munson on As the World Turns in over 100 episodes beginning in 1995. She made her film debut as school paper editor/cheerleader Delilah Profitt in The Faculty in 1998. She has subsequently starred in films like the coming-of-age drama The Invisible Circus, the lesbian rom-com D.E.B.S., and the slasher horror film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. Her best known film role has been as Mia Toretto in The Fast and the Furious, and in four of the seven sequels (there are rumors that she may return for the series’ ninth installment).

While her film career never really took off, in the past several years Brewster has built a solid television resume. She appeared in several season 2 episodes of Chuck as the title character’s ex-girlfriend, Dr. Jill Roberts. She was a regular on the TNT revival of Dallas as Elena Ramos, played Denise Brown on the first season of American Crime Story, and was a regular on the second season of the ABC anthology series Secrets and Lies. She currently stars as Dr. Maureen Cahill on Fox’s Lethal Weapon, currently in its second season.
