In just saw an episode from the LOGO channel that aired in November 1986 & a few days ago saw one from October 1986. Ted Knight died on 8/26/1986!
It's creepy to think NEW episodes aired with Ted Knight laughing & happy AFTER he was already DEAD!

I remember when John Ritter died he was only in the first 1 or 2 episodes of season 2 & I think they already aired before he died. |

I'm confused about the scheduling for Too Close for Comfort once it started it started its stint in first-run syndication. Basically, the show unlike when it was on ABC for the first three years, never operated under the standard September to May schedule. Instead, Season 4 premiered in April 1984 and ran until December of that year.
Season 5 premiered only two months after the end of the last one and ran through November 1985. There was however a one month gap in-between new episodes from the end of May to until the end of July. Some episodes, including the infamous "For Every Man, There's Two Women" episode, were actually produced for Season 4. The first twelve episodes for the final season (which originally ran as The Ted Knight Show), ran from early April to late July 1986. The final ten episodes (which premiered after Ted Knight passed away in August 1986) aired from September until February 1987. And the second to last episode first aired on January 31. |
