The CW Renews 10 Series

The CW has given an early renewal to the bulk of its lineup, picking up all returning series on its fall schedule for the 2018-19 season.

“As The CW expands to a six-night, Sunday-through-Friday schedule next season, we are proud to have such a deep bench of great returning series for 2018-19. By picking these ten series up for next season, we have a terrific selection of programming to choose from when we set our fall schedule in May, with more still to come,” said The CW president Mark Pedowitz.

“And I’m especially happy that we’ll continue to work with the incredibly talented casts, producers, and writers who create the series our fans are so passionate about.”

The venerable "Supernatural" was picked up for its 14th (!) season.

Supernatural's 14th season will also be its shortest since Season 3
The long-time CW drama is going from 23 episodes to 20 episodes next season, its second-lowest episode count. Season 3 consisted of 16 episodes because of the writers' strike. The CW had no explanation for the shorter episode count.

I've never watched this show, but I do remember reading somewhere that the original plan was for the show to run five seasons.
