Let's not reinvent history here and send it straight to Wikipedia as fact:

The show actually fell off the edge of a cliff which led it's cancellation.

Don't forget "Grace Under Fire" was the show that many critics and pundits thought at the time was going to replace Roseanne.

It was the ultimate "flash in the pan" TV series of 1990's, in my opinion.
