“The only manner in which the cast has discussed wrapping (The Big Bang Theory) has been that we’re all going to be very sad when that day comes,” Galecki said at the TV press tour “But I think at this point everyone’s very comfortable with 12 seasons being a good time to go home and see our families.” Aditionally, Galecki told TV Line that the negotiations to allow him to have a brief cameo on ABC Roseanne revival had to be “delicate” because it is a sitcom on a rival network. “It was probably most uncomfortable only to me,” he told TV Line, “because obviously Big Bang is my home and my family. But I probably wouldn’t have been on Big Bang if it hadn’t been for Roseanne. So there were the politics to be considerate about, but everyone was very supportive.” |

Yes. The first 8 seasons were great.
I feel Season 9 began a slow slide to being stale. |

Should have ended after 10 for sure! I can't believe they chose to stretch it out when the story is pretty much done with.

Oh, I sure hope so. It's been on 12 seasons too long.

It's funny to think that years ago that producers thought in terms of five year runs, just enough to get 100 episodes for syndication. And I think most shows have their peak within the first five years. When it does go, even though I'll know it's the right thing to do, I'll miss it on Thursday nights. |

With the show running heavily in syndication, especially it seems on TBS I suppose the temptation to make another couple of seasons was strong. They get top money per new episode plus the residuals and I'm pretty sure the stars have some kind of percentage deal and production deals. With many episodes down to 18-20 minutes it is more and more like a skit than a full story sometimes to me.
