Sterling K. Brown Guest Stars on "Brooklyn Nine-Nine"
by Michael Ausiello March 14, 2018 TVLine has the exclusive scoop on "This Is Us" star Sterling K. Brown's guest spot on "Brooklyn Nine-Nine". The episode — which will now air on Sunday, April 1 — was inspired by the classic Homicide outing “Three Men and Adena.” The story finds Brown’s perp being grilled by Andy Samberg’s Det. Jake Peralta and Homicide alum Andre Braugher’s Captain Holt. “It’s an episode that takes place completely in the interrogation room and its surroundings,” explains EP Dan Goor. “It’s one story featuring just Jake, Holt and Sterling K. Brown, and it’s really intense and really funny. It’s like a one-act play.” http://tvline.com/2018/03/14/this-is...ebecca-miguel/ |

If Brooklyn Nine-Nine does get canceled, Sterling K. Brown's interrogation episode was the perfect send-off
"While the comedy still has eight episodes until the season finale, Sunday’s half-hour encapsulated the talents and chemistry of the two leads: Andy Samberg’s goofy-yet-savvy detective Jake Peralta, and Andre Braugher, the hilariously deadpan Capt. Raymond Holt," says Emily Yahr, adding: "It was 30 minutes of a top-speed back-and-forth between the actors, and in the end, of course, it all came down to Peralta wanting to make Holt proud." ALSO: Watch the This Is Us star's interrogation. Sterling K. Brown's Brooklyn Nine-Nine performance was so chilling it might affect how you view his This Is Us role Brown's performance as a murder suspect was so unsettling because of how similar his character was to Randall from This Is Us. "They even both tend to wear the uniform of all middle-aged-but-cool professional men: a crisp, basic-hued button-down, an open, complimentary-colored jacket, and slim-fitting tan pants," says Ariana Romero. "But, more importantly, both fictional men are total perfectionists. So much of Randall’s character is built around his near-obsessive need to do everything flawlessly and have everyone notice as much." |
