How did CBS afford to produce Murder She Wrote?
Every week had a slew of big name guest stars, not to mention what they must have been paying Angela Landsbury.

Because it was a big hit, Murder She Wrote was a top 10 show for many seasons.

Networks actually had big budgets back then and were more willing to put out money to make money. Now, the head honchos want to keep all the money from advertisers but put out crappy shows.
