NBC Universal is shutting down the struggling horror channel.

I think the network had an unique decade long run.

It was a great concept with poor execution. I love horror films and television shows, but 90 percent of their programming was stuff I had never heard of; low budget (more like zero budget) forgettable stuff that was so bland it didn't even register.

Then, of course, when they DID feature a high profile film, they edited it so much for adult content that it was just a shadow of its real self.

Too bad; there's a market for a well programmed horror channel out there.

I'm gonna miss it. They used to play some pretty good horror movies in its earlier years.

I watched a few shows on it like the Friday The 13th TV series. Didn't watch the movies as I hate editing.

The best horror themed channel was MonstersHD, 24-7 uncut-commercial free horror movies, a wide range of mainstream to the lesser known. NOW that's a channel I miss. I'd print out a schedule every month and highlight the movies I wanted to record. Sigh.

Do you remember a channel in the 80's called "The Horror Channel?" It was available via satellite dish (which we didn't have) but a friend of mine had it. It didn't last very long.

I don't. That would have been awesome. I know the UK has a channel also called Horror Channel, seems it's what Chiller could have been.

Not that I am aware of; then again, I think I lost the channel a few years back, and don't even have satellite (or cable) now. LOL

MeTV is currently airing the original series. Last I knew Comet was airing the remake.
