Divorce's “jangly new attitude” in Season 2 is a refreshing change from its dour first season
“Gone are the muted colors and the dowdy dresses,” says Rachel Syme. “Robert even shaves his mustache, and with it, a decade from his age. In the second episode of the new season, Frances purchases a giant trampoline for her backyard, and she spends more than a little time bouncing on it, honey highlights akimbo. She wears turquoise and emerald green, white palazzo pants, summery floral prints, and slings pastel satchels casually over one shoulder. The season begins six months from where it left off—a television secret for pressing the reset button—and, instead of intense acrimony, the lead characters now approach each other with a new tolerance.” |
