Question Has Jaimee Foxworth been blackballed from the industy

I thought about this after the whole controversy over her not being invited to the Family Matters reunion shoot for Entertainment Weekly.

Her last regular role was in 1993. It's been 24 years since she's acted in Hollywood. And before you think that it was the primary reason, from 2000 - 2002, she was in the porn industry. So to do the math, there was a seven year gap between when she was fired from Family Matters and when she did her first adult film.

It's likely she was blackballed for the outrageous pay demands (or more to the point, her mom was allegedly being a demanding stage mom) and then went to do adult film work because times got really rough and no income was coming in.

Yes, I think she's been blackballed. Why else would Entertainment Weekly neglect to invite her, for even just a photo shoot with the rest of the cast?

With that being said, it was completely foolish on her part to get involved in the porn movie business and then think that she could go mainstream again.

As I said before, Judy was written out of the show, allegedly because Jaimee's mom kept getting on the producers' nerves about having more scenes on the show. Her mom was a typical stage mom who overstepped her boundaries. Then years later, her mom was able to get the judge to let her use her daughter's trust fund before the daughter turned 18. Her mom spent all of her money she made on the show.

According to Jaimee, she had nothing to fall back on after the money was gone. She however could've theoretically, gone back to school to earn a degree and worked a regular 9-to-5 job like most people have to do.

^^^ Waldo was eventually written out of the who and yet he was brought back for the reunion. If one can be brought back, so should another.

God bless you always!!!

Though no one from the Family Matters cast or crew confirmed exactly why Jaimee Foxworth was let go from the show, there have long been rumors surrounding one of the strangest character removals in TV history. It all took place during the show's fourth season. Judy, the youngest daughter in the Winslow family, goes upstairs during one episode and never comes back down.

According to the show's co-creator, William Bickley, Foxworth's removal was due to "budget considerations," but there's another long-standing rumor that Foxworth's mother might have been responsible for the actress' dismissal. According to an alleged and mysterious BET article, which has circulated in online forums for years and may be the cause of the rumor in the first place, "Foxworth believes her mother's demands for more money is what ultimately led to her contract not being renewed." Foxworth's mother, Gwynn Fox, was also her manager during this time, so the story is somewhat plausible.

The actress' career never fully recovered from that early setback, but Foxworth has kept a sense of humor about the whole thing. When asked about her character, she told People, "I'm still up there in my closet, putting on my clothes."

I don't think that it's that uncommon for a child performer to become essentially blackballed due to the actions of their stage parent. Macaulay Culkin and Thora Birch had a hard time getting substantial acting work likely because producers and studios were tired of dealing with their meddlesome fathers.

I agree. Its too bad because she's an adult now so her mom wouldn't likely be involved. Either way she still keeps in contact with Cherie, Shawn, and Darius.

She should have gotten a degree or a regular job, yes. But I remember reading that she was doing drugs at that point. And if that is true, I guess that life was rough for her at the time. And then, it is not that strange that adult movies seemed like the best option. I'm happy to see that she got out of that after only two years though.

Has anyone seen her adult movies? She was blackballed in those, too!

I've seen one of her "Adult" moves, and if anything, she should be blackballed from the Porn Industry. I can see why she failed at Porn.

Wow.

He was asked one simple question, gave absolutely no insight into her departure, and made it a five minute segment about himself. Sounds like he is full of himself. That's five minutes of my life I will never get back.
