Angry Lisa Bonet, an ingrate?

STAR MAGAZINE....

Cosby Show cast members are ecstatic that lisa Bonet has refused to take part
in the upcoming 10th anniversary reunion -- because they didn't want her there!

Bill Cosby was ready to let bygones be bygones and invited his troubled TV
daughter back, even after other show regulars begged him not to, Star has
learned.

But Bonet, 34, who played Denise on the '80s sitcom, snubbed him. "Lisa says
she wants no part of the reunion," says a show insider. "That was fine with the
rest of the cast because they didn't want her on board anyway."

Bonet, who changed her name to Lilakoi Moon in the mid-'90s, issued a statement
saying: "It was a take it or leave it, with or without you kind of offer and I
felt devalued and disrespected. I was just not feeling the love."

And the truth is there was no love there.

"We all felt Lisa spit on Bill one too many times and no one wanted her
negative energy around," declares one outspoken cast member. "Year after year
we watched Bill throw Lisa one bone after another and all she did was bite his
hand. The rest of us were happy to be on a hit show, but Lisa didn't seem to
appreciate her good fortune."

The Cosby Show Reunion, NBC's two-hour special airing May 19, features clips
and interviews with all the show's regulars, except Bonet.

What makes her absence even more shocking is the fact that even after Bonet
embarrassed straight-laced Cosby with her erotic performance in 1987's Angel
Heart, he asked her to reprise the Denise character in his new series A
Different World.

She left that show in 1989, and returned to the Cosby Show for two more years.

Bonet, who married musician Lenny Kravitz in 1987 and divorced him in 1993, now
lives in Los Angeles. They have a daughter, Zoe, 13.

Cosby's longtime publicist David Brokaw tells Star: "Bill holds nothing against
Lisa. He understands she has to do what she has to do and he wishes her the
best."

But insiders say Bonet is an ingrate.

"If anyone owes an allegiance to Cosby, it's Lisa," says the source. "She's
hardly done anything since the show went off the air and it's a disgrace the
way she's treated him."

Lisa is an adult, and she has the right to appear or not appear in whatever she wants. Bill Cosby is a class act to have invited her back, though -- I've read in many places what a pain in the rear she was during her later seasons on the show (she was fired after the seventh season).

Thumbs down

Believe Me it sounds as Lisa Bonet is a real ingrate to me. Cosby gave the show that made her a house hold name. How does she repay him by starring in Angel Heat, a horrible erotic thriller. Yes
Cosby was probaby tough, but Bonet from reports was no miss perfect either. I watched the E True Hollywood Story and Bonet apparently did not care about the show or other cast members.

There was no love lost when she did not show up for the reunion

Don't believe that garbage tabloid crap. Keisha Knight Pulliam was on my local news after the reunion show aired and she said she respected and understands Lisa's decision and that she has every right to do so, she is an intelligent woman who can make her own choices.

I remember the stuff she pulled back then! Not only was she a ingrate but a idiot! I wished Cosby hadn't let her back and just build stories around Sondra!

The thing to understand about Lisa Bonet is that when she did that movie back then it was about th whole Cosby kid image. The fact of the matter is that she was already an adult trying to do something to get away from the squeaky clean image. I would call her an ingrate for that.

I didn't know she changed her name in real life. She really is a weirdo LOL. That new name of her's is ugly. I like the name Lisa Bonet better.

Who knows what the real situation of this may be. As we all know, there are two sides to every story.

Her charactor Denise was certainly an independent....I am going to do what I want to do kind of person on the show, but lacked the maturity or responsibility needed to make her own decisions. (She quit things easily and was not good with criticism.)

Maybe some of those elements about Denise Huxtable-Kendell were true in her actual behavior on the show concerning her relations/interactions with the cast.

But, I don't criticize Lisa for what she did. She made her decision based on her own judgments and personality. It does however sound like there was, at the very least, tension between her and the rest of the cast in later seasons.

I wouldn't believe every word you hear in the tabloids but in my opinion, Bonet is the definition of the word ingrate. Cosby even gave the woman her own show, "A Different World" and it was a success!! Yet she acted the way she did. F*ck her.

She was a big pain in the arse and gave Cosby a hard time. I'm sure Cosby was tough but come on, the show was #1 and Bonet had a lovely paycheck. I respect her feelings and everything and I'm even a fan. But she shouldn't have acted the way she did. Especially to her fellow cast members. Unprofessional on her part.

The reunion went on without her and nobody cared. Even Phylicia made a joke about it.

Cosby and Rashad (now Allen) went on to another hit sitcom. Bledsoe had a short lived talk show and Warner had a sitcom too but stupid Bonet starred in some cheesy low buget thriller.

Oh well. Paybacks a b*tch. Bonet could have bigger star than what she is now.
