"Broad City" Gets New, Later Season 4 Premiere Date at Comedy Central
by Kimberly Roots July 25, 2017 "Broad City‘s" Abbi and Ilana are going to show up fashionably late to their own season premiere. Comedy Central announced on Tuesday that the comedy series, which was originally scheduled to return on Aug. 23, now will be back on Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 10:30/9:30c. http://tvline.com/2017/07/25/broad-c...omedy-central/ |

The Comedy Central series’ close association with Hillary Clinton burdened it with feeling “like a remnant of a bygone era — a cultural moment carbon-dated to the late Obama years, when coastal 20-somethings were optimistic about the trickle-down effect of representation and radical rhetoric,” says Alison Herman. She adds: “The good news is that (Ilana) Glazer, (Abbi) Jacobson, and the rest of the Broad City crew seem aware of the hurdles they face and have pushed themselves into new territory accordingly. Broad City’s fourth season is the most grounded the show’s ever been, infused with a newfound sense of maturity but still able to reach new heights of live-action-cartoon absurdism when it needs to.” PLUS: Broad City shifts from madcap to contemplative, Trump’s influence makes for an explicit plot point, and Abbi and Ilana talk about the Season 4 changes. |
