Question Television episodes that wouldn’t fly today

For the purpose of this thread, I’m not talking about entire series that would not be made, such as westerns where the theme of every other episode is “the only good injun is a dead injun”. I mean perfectly “normal” series that would have an occasional episode that is pretty WTF by modern social conventions. (And, I suppose, by “not fly today”, I would have to exclude series that make it a point to push at boundaries as hard as possible, such as Family Guy and South Park.)

The episode of the Beverly Hillbillies where Jethro straps himself to a rocket and tries to launch himself to the moon or the one where he makes wings and tries to launch into space today's audience would be to busy trying to decipher the logic in it to enjoy it

I agree. People over analyze things instead of just enjoying the nonsense of TV. TV is meant to be entertainment not an educator with the exception of very few networks, like PBS.

the hitchhiker eps of different strokes would have to be redone because the whole premise of arnold wanting to go to the guys apartment to watch tapes of rocket launchings does not fit with the current times today with youtube arnold could just sit down with a computer/tablet or other device and watch rocket launchings for hours on end

Going back to Diff'rent Strokes how about the "Bicycle Man" 2-parter, with today's techie addicted kids stuck on their phones and tablets what kid even owns a bicycle nowadays?

What about the first season of "All In The Family"? Would today's audiences sit still and put up with Archie Bunker's antics and language every week? I would expect the show to go down the "terlet" fairly quickly.

The later years of Happy Days c'mon a middle aged man still wearing a leather jacket riding a motorcycle I can just hear today's audience yelling at the TV *** and the fact that he still hung around youngsters would have a few CREEP chants as well.

Are maids and housekeepers out? The only recent one I can think of is Berta on "Two and a Half Men."

I can tolerate Archie and his family more than I can the usual tv shows of the last 15 years. I never watch much of Two and Half Men for the language and plot lines turned me off.
