The first season had all the quirky characters, and their shortcomings in love and life. Then, about midway through Season 2, the Ross/Rachel dynamic became the absolute focal point of the show, and it arguably just became one fan-fiction cliche after another.

I think the first five seasons were the best, though I think the show remained strong throughout its run.

I do feel, however, that the writers and producers didn't handle the Ross/Rachel thing well, with the off and on nature of the relationships and the two getting involved with other characters in relationships you knew were doomed.

I don't like the way they handled the baby. By that point, everyone knew that Ross and Rachel would ultimately be together, so they should have had them marry and then have a child.
