Well Lindsay Lohan was set to be the star of the Mean Girls group and she did have the talent, but she flushed it down the toilet. Then Rachel McAdams had a huge hit in the Notebook that set her off to stardom. Even Amanda Seyfried has done extremely well. Lacey definitely has the talent and in my opinion she even showcased it in Party Of Five when she could have been easily overshadowed by her older cast mates.

To be fair, it also seems to be a Scott Wolf situation, where it's less that Hollywood won't cast her and more that she doesn't want to be cast. She's a regular for Hallmark and has been in maybe eight or so Hallmark movies, and she's said that she really likes it there, so I think she's just kind of carved out a niche in made-for-TV family movies.
And I kind of think Mean Girls was meant to be more of a star vehicle for Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams anyway - Chabert had already been in movies like Anastasia, Lost in Space, Not Another Teen Movie and Daddy Day Care, so she already had the Hollywood exposure |

These tabloid click-bait articles often exaggerate if not fabricate stories, and make sensible career choices sound disastrous (Aaauugh! She’s a Christian and doesn’t want to play roles that go against her faith). Lacey has been acting since childhood but is now in her late 30s, married, a mother, and has steady work on Hallmark movies. I wish her, a native Mississippian like me, all the best.
