Question I gotta know!

Does anyone remember the episode where Gomer keeps sleepwalking during combat training? He can't fight when he's awake, but when he's asleep, he's really good? I want to find information about that episode...

If you're still here, I think I can answer your question. An episode did appear with that plotline. Gomer ate somekind of stew and it made him sleepwalk. He would stand up to Sgt. Carter when sleepwalking, but Carter doesn't find out later that Pyle was sleepwalking. He finds this out because the Corporal points out that Pyle's eyes are closed.

gottaknow & Jenny,
What a great episode! #84, "Gomer, the Welsh Rarebit Fiend." One of my faves!

Carter and Boyle were convinced that Gomer was drinking or possibly smoking something funny. But, it was really only something he was eating. Jim Nabors was absolutely terrific the way he kept getting right in the sarge's face and telling him off night after night!

Later,
Art

I loved the ending to the episode where Carter is sleepwalking and Gomer is supposedly Sgt. Carter. Carter walks out in his underwear and starts talking like Gomer, and Gomer starts yelling at Carter in Sgt. Carter's voice. lol

Jenny,
It was a gem! When Sgt. Carter was acting like Gomer at the end, of course, they dubbed Gomer's voice. But, when Gomer was yelling at him in Sgt. Carter style, Gomer was really doing it himself.

Yep, that scene always cracks me up. You know another episode that cracks me up? The one where Sgt. Carter, Gomer, and the gang go on overseas manuvers or something like that. Sgt. Carter, Gomer, and Duke are in this dingy (Is that what it was called?) kind of thing and Gomer keeps making the air go out of the dingy and they sink almost everytime. I love that episode too. Wow, I'd say this is the most times anybody has ever posted on this board for a week!

Yeah my man Gomer Pyle USMC went and ate him some Welsh Rabbit (rarebit) at this lady's restaurant. For it must have reminded him of Home; anyway it was said that eating Welsh Rabbit makes some people have weird dreams.

And the people said:

Amen.

It reminds me of 2 Episodes in my Life that is Living that is consuming Oxygen or O2. 1 is on TV and 1 is Real Life:

A: A movie called "Coal Miner's Daughter" has Loretta Lynn and her husband Doolittle going into the store for some food. Loretta complains about having "too much bologna" and Doo told her "AND I QUOTE":

Bologna makes you Horny.

B: In my Elementary School Days I would often read books of interesting qualities. Well. One day I saw this book called "The End Of The World". My main man Tracy Pearce sees me w/this book and says "AND I QUOTE":

You're gonna have bad dreams man.

Smart dude. He was oh about 10 or 11 when he said it and wouldn't you know:

He was right.

Amen.

Amen.

Oh Pickoff! I Rod (Ivan Rodriguez) of the Rangers tried to pick off Javy Lopez of the Braves. Gotta run.

Thumbs up It's MY FAVORITE EPISODE!

And because of that, I've developed a huge love for Welsh Rarebit!

And no...I've never had any dream problems after eating it!

But it does make me wanna walk around in my underwear from time-to-time!

Default I've Got To Know

Hi Everyone

I first saw this espisode back when it first air in 1965. I was eleven years old. Today I am 48 and I have never eaten Welsh Rabbit, because of that espisode I am to afraid of trying it. I might have bad dream and walked in my sleep like Gomer did. Silly isn't it?

Default Well...

...it's not RABBIT, but 'RARE'BIT.

And it's delicious! It's just a blend of cheese and spices in a sauce, poured over toasted bread! MMMMMmmmmmmm!

There's a frozen version in the grocery store that's actually pretty good.

I'm making myself hungry! Now I know what's for dinner!

Default Gotta to know

Hi

Sorry about the misinterpretation about Welsh 'Rare'bit and I'm sure that it must be very good. I knew what it was and I also knew that it didn't have anything to do with rabbits. I know that being afraid to try something because of what I saw on an old TV show is silly, but I just can't help how I feel. Maybe some day I will. But for now I choose not to. I am new on this list and have been a Gomer fan since I first saw him on The Andy Griffith Show back in 1962 when I was 8 years old. I just love to heard Jim sing and I have sereval CD of his songs that I can sit and listen to for hours. Well any way I hope to make alot of new friends here and I will be posting as often as I can. Well bye for now

I wouldn't worry about being afraid of trying a new food because of a tv show. I'm kind of the opposite on foods on tv shows, well some foods anyway. You know the pickle episode of The Andy Griffith Show? Everytime I see that episode, I start craving pickles. lol- I've often wondered if anybody else ever gets that feeling when they see that episode.

BTW, Welcome to the Boards!

Jenny,
Don't tell me that the Brussells sprouts episode of "Leave It To Beaver" gives you cravings, too!
