What is the family tree of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez now? How many descendants to they have now? How many children does the son and daughter have now, and do they have any children? My late grandmother was Lucille's age (born in 1908 versus 1911) and she now has two great great grandchildren.

Through the son, are there grandsons or great grandsons carrying the Arnez name? What about Bill Frawley? This would be fascinating (and may do my own research on the subject).

I think people make that mistake because although the name is spelled Arnaz it's pronounced Arnez.

Actually, no, it's not supposed to be pronounced that way. Many (perhaps most) people in the U.S. do so for reasons unknown to me, but they're all mispronouncing it. It's a Spanish name. There are only five vowel sounds in Spanish. The Spanish A is a very distinct "ah" sound; it's never pronounced as an E. You can hear the proper pronunciation of his name in this video at 0:38:

I agree! Desi Arnaz was a very famous person. And the Arnaz family are very well known. Surely people have seen the name Arnaz written many times! It's kind of strange to be spelling it wrong!

Exactly, Bonnie! His name appears in the opening and closing credits, plain as day, in every single episode. And in big letters! There should be no confusion. For all he accomplished, I feel we at least owe him the respect of spelling his name correctly.

And it would be nice if people would at least try to also pronounce it correctly. An "s" in Spanish is always pronounced like an "s," never like a z. And the letter z, for that matter, is also pronounced like an s. So Desi is pronounced dessi, not dezi. And both a's in Arnaz are pronounced like the English short o (the "ah" sound), as in words like hot or mop. It does not EVER sound like an e. So his full name sounds like Dessi Ahr-nahs, NOT Dezi Arnez. I'll post the linke above again so people can hear the correct pronunciation of his name, at 0:38:

I have read a few books on Lucille's life but I haven't read much or seen much of Desi's life. What do we know about his early life?
