Change is in the air at Supergirl, and not just because the show has flown over to The CW after spending its freshman season on CBS. In the Season 2 premiere, we were finally introduced to Tyler Hoechlin's Superman, while our titular heroine, Kara (played by Melissa Benoist), pumped the brakes on her relationship with James "Jimmy" Olsen (Mehcad Brooks). At a press conference earlier this week, showrunner Andrew Kreisberg told reporters that despite their best efforts, the writers found that the relationship between Kara and James was feeling forced, prompting them to pull back from their initial plans for the couple.
