Default What does the P in Alex P. Keaton stand for?

See topic. I'm just curious. I watch it on Nick at Nite all the time, but I've never heard what it stands for. Could someone help me on this? Thanx in advance.

SAM: What's the story, Norm?
NORM: Boy meets beer. Boy drinks beer. Boy gets another beer. In this performance, the role of the boy will be played by Norm Peterson.

WOODY: What's going on, Mr. Peterson?
NORM: A flashing sign in my gut that says, `Insert Beer Here.'

WOODY: Pour you a beer, Mr. Peterson?
NORM: All right, but stop me at one.... make that one-thirty.

WOODY: What's the latest, Mr. Peterson?
NORM: Zha-Zha marries a millionaire, Peterson drinks a beer. Film at eleven.

COACH: Can I draw you a beer, Norm?
NORM: No, I know what they look like. Just pour me one.

COACH: How's a beer sound, Norm?
NORM: I dunno'. I usually finish them before they get a word in.

Family Ties Quotes:

Mallory: Alex, I told you whenever you take a message to write down who called, when they called, and what it was about.
Alex: I did. Somebody stupid called, sometime today, about something trivial.
Mallory: Alex, you know that could be ANY one of my friends.

Mallory: I know you came into my room and read my diary Alex!
Alex: Don't be silly, I just came into your room to get a book.
Mallory: Ha! What would a book be doing in my room!
Alex: *shrugs* She's got me there.

Mallory: You guys, I would like you to meet someone. This is Jamie Carter.
Alex: AHHH!!!! *jumps onto Steven's lap*
Steven: Alex, she said "Jamie" not "Jimmy".
Alex: *to Jamie* Oh. You should seriously consider getting that changed.

Jennifer: There is nothing like a smile from a hunk.
Mallory: I know, it's even better than when you walk into your
classroom and you see a movie projector set up.

Yep. If you look at http://www.sitcomsonline.com/familyties.html under their trivia section, it says the "P" in Alex P. Keaton was never revealed during the series and it doesn't stand for anything.

actually, the "did you know?" section is incorrect. there was one episode where alex's name was written on something (i can't remember right now what it was or what episode it was in....) and it said "Alex Patrick Keaton." so the "P" does stand for something! at least, it did in one episode!

Really? I always thought they never revealed it. Let me know if you figure out which episode it was.

Actually, I think you will need a little more proof then that. Let us know when you find it!

Cool

In Michael's new book he stated that he ad-libbed the initial "P" during a scene while anwsering the phone. It's on page 81 for those interested.

The "P" could also stand for "Peace". Remember, in one episode, we could see younger Steven and Elyse who were saying that they were going to call the 1st son "Peace Keaton". Imagine: "Alex Peace Keaton": Pretty ironic!!!!!!

Progress is his middle name. Backies would get that joke. Seriously, though, in my stories - I say that his middle name is Patrick. Anyway, I kinda like the idea of him having the same middle name as Mike Flaherty.

As I was reading this post I noticed something Michael has the same type of name as Alex I mean Micheal's full name is Michael J. Fox and his Character is Alex P. Keaton, they both have just a letter for there middle name. So I have a question, what does the J in Michael J. Fox stand for? Hopefully this one will be easier to figure out.

His real name is Michael Andrew Fox. He picked the J for his middle initial from his favourite actor, Michael J Pollard. I have no idea what the J stood for in Michael J Pollard.
