Good! Glad it's gone! This was a mockery of The Muppets.

Bummer. Clever show, good writing. Sad day in Muppets land. But they'll survive.

Oh No

I also don't think the new reality-ish concept worked for The Muppets either.

If it isn't broke...don't fix it!

But I'd much rather watch The Muppets than a lot of the reality crap out there.

Oh well. They tried. They could move it to another channel like they did with Supergirl which is moving to the CW.

I am a huge fan of the Muppets, I even own the original show on DVD and stuffed animals. Having said that I was disappointed with this series. I thought it was too serious and too gloomy for the Muppets, like Kermit and Miss Piggy breaking up. I watched the first few episodes then got bored. I heard it got better after the break but too late then. I think the Muppets in some form will come back again but they need to make it more like the old Muppets. It should be said that the last attempt at a show, Muppets Tonight only lasted two seasons.

Default It’s Not Easy Being Cancelled: ABC Mercifully Shutters Muppets Show

http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/cul...fully-shutters

By Maggie McKneely | May 13, 2016 | 12:08 PM EDT

After only one season, ABC has cancelled the reboot of The Muppets. The show was supposed to be an instant success (who doesn’t love Kermit and Miss Piggy?), but the reboot took on a dark and edgy flair that didn’t resonate with fans of the original Muppets.

Instead of sticking to what made the original Muppets a classic, this new batch used their TV platform to push a social agenda. One episode preached about gender fluidity. The male puppets expressed their interest in Josh Groban, and justified it by saying that Groban’s gender was fluid. Maybe puppets don’t really understand human biology. Ignorance, however, doesn’t change the fact that people still have the same biological parts every single morning.

Another episode attempted to bash Italian Americans who had not yet learned English. Never mind that Italians are a fully assimilated, hugely successful American immigration story. And the Left would never level the same criticism at any other ethnic group (Bienvenido a América!).

And in one last desperate effort to improve the show’s abysmal ratings, Miss Piggy pulled a Miley Cyrus and twerked and chest-jiggled her way through an office boardroom. Miss Piggy dressed as a stripper does not belong in a “family” show.

It’s not easy being green, and when a classic becomes just another branch on the TV sewer, it’s not easy making it either. After obtaining a pathetic 1.9 rating, ABC is saying goodbye to The Muppets. Sorry Kermit, but it looks like you’ll have to go find your rainbow connection somewhere else.

Default That Awkward Moment When Kermit the Frog Told Fozzie Bear The Muppets Was Cancelled

http://www.vulture.com/2016/05/fozzi...cellation.html

Quote:
When ABC cancelled its reboot of The Muppets earlier this month following its first and only season, the news quickly made the rounds among devote Muppet enthusiasts around the world. However, the news apparently didn’t reach everyone, one of whom is particularly affected by the cancellation: Fozzie Bear, the porkpie hat-wearing companion of Kermit the Frog. Watch below as New York Magazine editor Chris Bonanos and Kermit accidentally break the bad news to Fozzie at this year's Vulture Festival. (It's only a little bit awkward.)

I think we are a little more sophisticated today than we were 30, 40 or 50 years ago when "muppets" captivated our attention for 30 minutes.
